CCF FORESITE PROGRAM… Graduates working in your workplace:
As a measure to address the skills shortage in the medium to long term, the Civil Contractors Federation, has developed a centralised applied learning program for third year civil engineering students called the FORESITE Program.
WHAT IS THE PROGRAM?
The Program is now in its ninth year and continues due to it’s success and member appeal. The aim is to give as many third year students as possible a twelve week ‘taste’ of our industry through their summer holidays. These students will be applying for graduate positions approximately 3 months later, and we want to be firmly in their minds when they do.
Members simply have to nominate one mentor per student, and then allow the student to shadow that mentor through the applied learning placement period.
The program has run with complete success over the past years and participating Contractors and students have agreed that it is certainly a worthwhile program. We ask member’s support in taking a student or as many students as possible this summer – the program is for the good of the industry as a whole, and requires very little commitment on behalf of members. We hope that you will understand the benefit of this program.
WHEN IS THE PROGRAM?
This year placements will commence on Monday 3rd December, 2018 and finish approximately end of February 2019.
- The ‘applied learning placements’ are UNPAID and all students will have their White Card (Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry) before commencing.
- Students are also covered by their respective University’s insurance whilst on their placement at your workplace.
