CCF Victoria members Winslow and BMD Group have secured contracts to deliver construction upgrades on significant roads in Melbourne’s north and west.
Winslow will deliver the Watson Street Interchange Upgrade in Wallan, easing congestion for motorists in Melbourne’s north and providing additional connections from Wallan to the Hume Freeway and Melbourne.
Early works will begin later this year, with crews already on site carrying out investigations and establishing the site compound ahead of major construction starting in early 2026.
The project will deliver new freeway ramps and upgraded connections to make it easier for motorists to enter and exit the Hume Freeway, while new traffic signals on both sides of the interchange will improve safety and traffic flow.
The upgrade will support around 1,100 jobs, supporting Victoria’s construction industry and creating local employment opportunities.
Meantime, Transport Infrastructure Minister Gabrielle Williams has announced BMD Constructions has been awarded the contract to deliver the Point Cook Road and Central Avenue Intersection Upgrade project.
The upgrade will replace the existing roundabout with traffic lights, build a new freeway off-ramp, and provide safer pedestrian crossings.
The project will help cater for Melbourne’s growing west – improving traffic flow and reducing travel times for an estimated 28,000 road users daily.
The project will also provide a significant boost to local economy, creating an estimated 550 new jobs – 205 direct jobs and 345 indirect jobs.
