Further to my CEO Update last Monday, many of you have seen the article that has appeared today in The Age newspaper following correspondence forwarded to the Premier by representatives of Employer Groups and Unions, including the Civil Contractors Federation, seeking an easing of restrictions in the Building & Construction sector.

A link to the full article is attached for your reference. Push for building industry to trial easing of COVID-19 restrictions

In response to this article, we have circulated a further Media Release this afternoon as the government contemplates easing restrictions.  The group highlighted the successful manner in which the industry has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all construction workers, proving the ability to keep workers safe during this time. The proposed alleviation of restrictions comes as the group looks to the planning and strategising of returning the industry to increased production as soon as possible, whilst not compromising or retreating from the primary responsibility of safety.

I will continue to keep you abreast of any announcements made by the Premier and State Government in the easing of restrictions over the coming days.

Kind regards,
