CCF Victoria meets with Minister for Roads and Ports; Hon Luke Donnellan:

In its continuing program of strong advocacy to Government on the issues facing the civil construction sector in the short to medium term, CCF Branch President Domenic DeFazio, Branch Treasurer John Plumridge, together with Jim Waller (Executive General manager Australian Operations – McConnell Dowell) and CEO John Stewart met one on one with Roads and Ports Minister; Hon. Luke Donnellan on 12 March, 2015.

In a very robust discussion, CCF raised a number of points and sought commitment from the Minister on these issues. The meeting proved to be highly valuable and an excellent opportunity to building a close and cooperative working relationship with the Minister and his Chief of Staff; Daniel Hoare. Members are asked to note that during these discussions with Ministers, a number of matters are discussed under the banner of confidentiality and we are required to maintain confidentiality on these matters, however we are able to provide a “distilled” version of the  responses by the Minister to our issues.

A very significant outcome of the discussion was the commitment of the Minister and his Chief of Staff to meet with CCF on a regular basis on major issues effecting the industry.
