Changes at Powercor Announced:

After over 40 years of working in the Electrical Industry, Peter Malone retired from Powercor on Friday 7 November, 2014.

While permanent arrangements are being organised, the following technical and administration arrangements are to be maintained.

Project administration, design and co-ordination. Refer to the Projects nominated Customer Project Advisor (CPA).

As promised and based on feedback, Powercor has reviewed its design and drafting checklists (click here). These must be signed by an approved Option 2 designer or draft person as appropriate on submission of designs.

Cable hauling calculations and plans need to be submitted and attached on a separate sheet (click here). These sheets will address and provide consistency in Design. This will apply for all designs from Monday 1 December 2014.

Cable hauling training will become a mandatory requirement for those companies seeking accreditation in categories 5 LV Underground Cable Hauling and 6 HV Underground Cable Hauling. Training module will be trailed in the early 2015 before being released to the industry.

As November and early December are usually a busy time of the year for CIAW Option 2 audit requests, you are urged to get early advice or audit request submitted as soon as possible.
