New Trunk Infrastructure Fund can support regional contractors with works pipeline

Civil Contractors Federation Victoria welcomes today’s launch of the state government’s $15 million Trunk Infrastructure Fund.

Designed to encourage projects that drive economic growth, job and business creation in regional Victoria, the Fund will offer grants of between $500,000 and $2 million to help develop or expand key sites, including industrial estates and employment precincts.

Trunk infrastructure – road network connections, power and utilities, water and sewerage infrastructure – is essential to enabling new business developments.

Under the Fund, applicants such as local government authorities will be required to co-contribute up to 50 per cent to infrastructure development projects in their region; meaning greater investment in pipelines of civil works for contractors with capacity.
