Civil Skills Cadetship (CSC) Program – Update
In partnership with Gordon TAFE, the Civil Skills Workforce Development function of CCF Vic, is ready to roll out the first CSC Program in the Geelong region.
The target group for this first program is RSL veterans. Anzac House and RSL Geelong have actively supported information sharing to its members, resulting in much interest.
Six Civil Industry Mentors have been engaged to support participants as they work through the stages of the CSC Program. Six Civil Construction Businesses from the Geelong Region have committed, to support the learning, by providing opportunities for participants to experience the realities of working in the civil construction industry. The CSC Program model supports learning that reflects the realities of the workplace, including the importance of safety, communication, health and wellbeing.
On 4th December 2018, a CSC Program Information Session will be held at Gordon TAFE. The purpose of this session is to bring together Industry Mentors and Civil Construction Business representatives for an opportunity to discuss the “wrap around” support that these roles play. This direct industry led support is critical to ensuring that the CSC Program is both relevant to responds to local industry needs in the Geelong Region.
RSL Veterans are invited to participate in a session on 4th December 2018. This session will provide participants with detailed information relating to the structure, outcomes, training approach and assessment requirements of the CSC Program. There is an opportunity for participants to prepare an Expression of Interest to participate in the program.
These Information Sessions will provide all stakeholders engaged in the CSC Program with the opportunity to discuss their connection to, and role within the program. Collaboratively, we will deliver a civil industry led skills development program that sets participants up for a successful career in the civil construction and infrastructure sectors.
