Entries open for Premier’s Sustainability Awards:

Does your business demonstrate an outstanding commitment to protecting Victoria’s environment? If so, we encourage you to enter the Environment Protection Award category of the 2015 Premier’s Sustainability Awards.

The award, sponsored by the Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA), recognises leadership, commitment and excellence by a business in the protection of the environment. Encouraging high performance is a key component of our approach as a modern regulator and sponsoring the award is part of the plan to support and recognise leaders across business and the community.

An innovative in-vessel composting facility saw Veolia nominated for last years awards. The facility provided capacity to process 85,000 tonnes per year of organic waste from 11 councils in the north west of metropolitan Melbourne turning it into valuable recycled organic compost. The state-of-the-art facility is the first of two commissioned under a long-term contract to convert garden and other organics sourced from community kerbside collection into high-quality organic soil improvement products. Take a look at all of last year’s finalists and winners.

Some benefits of entering:

  • Review and reflect upon the successes you or your organisation have achieved
  • Receive public recognition at the highest level in the state
  • Demonstrate to your staff that their efforts are publicly recognised
  • Network with key environmental, industry and government groups
  • Utilise the prestigious awards in your marketing strategy.

Entering the awards is easy and free. To enter, simply download an entry kit here. You can also register for an information session that offers general advice and how to write a compelling entry. Sessions can be attended in person, online or by phone.

Entries close 5pm, Monday 13 July.

Good luck.
