EPA Online Survey – Help Shape Victoria’s New Environment Protection Regulations

On behalf of the Victorian Government, Deloitte Access Economics has recently released an on-line survey which gives you the opportunity to provide your views on options for Victoria’s future environment protection regulations.

Following an inquiry into Victoria’s Environment Protection Authority (EPA), the Government passed new environment protection laws which the Government intends to come into effect in July 2020.  You can find out more about these new laws at epa.vic.gov.au.

To support the operation of the new laws, EPA Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) are developing proposed environment protection regulations. The regulations will support minimising the risks of harm to human health and the environment from pollution or waste.

Prior to introducing any new regulations, DELWP and EPA are undertaking a comprehensive review of the impact these regulations may have on Victorian businesses and the broader community.  As part of this process, DELWP and EPA have been talking to a range of industry bodies, businesses and community members.

DELWP and EPA are seeking your views on the likely impacts of the proposed options for regulations by completing the on-line survey from Deloitte Access Economics. You can participate by using this direct link to the on-line survey.

Your important input will be used to develop a regulatory impact assessment, which is intended to be publicly released in mid 2019. The Survey closes on Friday, 29 March 2019 and should take you approximately 15 minutes – 45 minutes to complete.
