SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER – BRENDON GALE – CEO RICHMOND FOOTBALL CLUB

Brendon Gale, CEO of Richmond (‘Tigers’) Football Club, is an Australian sports legend and an influential AFL sports administrator.

Brendon is a former Richmond player where he competed in 244 games after being recruited from Burnie in the Tasmanian State League. He played for the Richmond Football Club from 1990 to 2001 as a centre half-forward and later as Ruckman. For five seasons he played alongside his older brother, Michael Gale, who transferred from the “Fitzroy Football Club” at the end of the 1993 season.

Brendon is also the former CEO of the AFL Players’ Association and member of the AFL’s “Laws of the Game” or Rules Committee.

MASTER OF CEREMONIES – TONY LEONARD

One of Victoria’s most prominent radio stars, Tony Leonard is a long-serving member of 3AW’s AFL football commentary team. He is also a contributor on the Ace Radio network and works for Crocmedia on a program called ‘Sportsday Victoria’. Tony holds a radio and hosting career of more than 35 years. In 1982 he became a member of the Coodabeen Champions, a comedy team featured on 3RRR, 3LO and 3AW, along with our events special guest performer, Greg Champion.

FEATURING SPECIAL GUEST PERFORMER – GREG CHAMPION

Songwriter, singer, comedian and prominent radio personality Greg Champion captures what is it to be Australian through his unique combination of comedy, sports parodies and country/folk music.

Greg’s released more than 30 CDs, and won gongs in the VMI category: ‘Vaguely Minor Identity’.  Champs has been a member of institutional ABC radio show The Coodabeen Champions for 37 years. Song titles include May Your Fridge Be Full Of Coldies, I Made a 100 In The Backyard At Mum’s, When the Going Gets Tough Go And Get Stuffed, and Never Turn Right at Burke Road Malvern.  Greg has released more than 30 albums on country, Christmas, cricket, comedy, Theosophical and Australian themes.
