Brian Morrison
Compliance Specialist – AusNet

Brian brings more than 14 years’ experience in AusNet working with contractors in distribution and over 40 years’ experience in the electrical industry, originally starting his training in the SEC as a HV/LV Paper Cable Jointer. In his current role, Brian works directly with developers and civil contractors and actively engages across the industry through forums such as AusNet’s Developer Consultative Committee to improve work site safety and quality. He currently serves as an AusNet representative on the Victorian Electrical Distribution Networks (VEDN), a committee of the Victorian Electricity Supply Industry (VESI), which is responsible for accrediting civil contractors and Auditors who are involved in the civil installation of underground electrical infrastructure.

Nic Moss
General Manager Assets – Gippsland Water

Nic is passionate about creating a culture where people achieve great outcomes that are strongly focused on looking after each other, positive customer experiences, and a sustainable future.

Nic is responsible for strategic asset management, asset and project planning, and major capital projects that result in sustainable asset operation, performance, replacement, and augmentation. This includes delivery of our Energy Management Strategy and asset related climate change mitigation and adaptation actions.

Nic will be highlighting key projects within Gippsland Water’s Price Submission 2023, which proposes a spend of approximately $268 million in gross capital expenditure over the next five years, excluding gifted assets, to deliver on customer outcomes and commitments.

Nic has over 20 years of experiences in both the private and public sector in operations and maintenance, asset management, production, and major capital projects.  Nic has a Bachelor of Engineering (with Honours) (Mechanical) from Monash University.

Ben Wood
Director Community Infrastructure – Baw Baw Shire Council

With a passion for collaboration, delivering great outcomes, and putting people first, Ben is a qualified engineer with leadership experience spanning over 30 years. With early roles starting out as a labourer for builders and bricklayers, Ben has built a career that has encompassed design, project management, asset management, construction management and maintenance across the private and government sectors.
At Baw Baw Shire, Ben leads a great team who are responsible for capital delivery, maintenance services, waste services, asset management, facility management, environmental sustainability, and sports and recreation.
Ben will be providing an overview of some of the projects and opportunities at Baw Baw as well as funding streams that will drive construction activity within the local government sector more broadly.
