Lisa is a highly qualified, experienced executive and transformational leader with over 20 years’ experience in management, human resources and education/training. Recently Lisa has been a leader and advocate for innovation and driving future skills development across the Water Industry nationally. She is a strategic advisor to industry, invited to sit on a number of industry committees and is highly networked.

Lisa will be providing attendees with an update on the initiatives currently underway by CCF Victoria around training, representation, advocacy, and other major upcoming events for Contractors and Associates to be aware of.

Brian Westley – Director Presentation and Assets, City of Greater Bendigo

Brain will be informing attendees of City of Greater Bendigo’s local infrastructure developments particularly focusing on the Commonwealth Games preparation. He will also be sharing Council’s capital works program and will be informing attendees of projects in the pipeline as well as providing information on any industry related initiatives by Council.

His presentation will also address lessons learned over the last year with contracting activity as well as address:

  • 2022/23 Program
  • Circular Economy
  • Evaluating tenders – formal contracts
  • Challenges and opportunities

Brian is a respected and strategic leader having worked in State and Local Government for the past 20 years, with the past nine years in various executive leadership positions.

He has led a variety of functions including policy, operations, business support, community engagement, statutory planning, business case development, strategic land use planning and emergency management; but his true passion is in delivering infrastructure and services that helps communities thrive.

In 2017, he was the Project Director of the Country Roads Project; the largest public engagement in Victorian transport, connecting with more than 11,000 Victorians. Since late 2020, he has worked as a Director with the City of Greater Bendigo. An advocate for environmental sustainability, he was the previous Chair of the Victorian Recycled Products in Roads Taskforce.

Brian has a relentless drive to help people reach their full potential, whilst ensuring great outcomes for the community. He has spent most of his life in Bendigo where he and his wife are now raising four children.

Danny McLean – Chief Officer Assets and Operations, Coliban Water

Danny has over 20 years’ experience in the water industry holding leadership positions within both private and public sector organisations prior to joining Coliban Water in mid‐2015.

Danny’s experiences have focused on operations and strategy in the water industry in Victoria and New South Wales with exposure and input into national operations.

He is responsible for ensuring Coliban Water customers receive high quality services delivered through our $1.6B asset base. He oversees catchment and water treatment operations, infrastructure, planning, rural and urban networks, statutory approvals, wastewater treatment and reuse, water regulations land, catchment and property, partnerships and our outsourced operations. Danny is GAICD, he holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental), and is a Member of Engineers Australia and the Australian Water Association.

Danny’s presentation will provide a snapshot of Coliban Water’s current projects and those projects that are in the pipeline for their Pricing Submission 2023-2028. The Pricing Submission is the intended level of investment, service and pricing for 2023-2028 period.  It will also cover the expected standard of safety and operation when working with Coliban Water, as well as new procurement requirements mandated by the Victorian Government.

Peter Sullivan – Area Advisor, WorkSafe Victoria

Peter has been working for WorkSafe and its predecessors for the past 30 years commencing with the Dept Labour (DLI) in 1991, Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA), Health and Safety Organisation (HSO), WorkCover Safety and finally WorkSafe Victoria. During this period Peter has covered all areas within the scope of country inspector also as a designated construction inspection covering the areas within the northern parts of the state. The area went from Gisborne to Mildura across to Corryong down through the alpine areas to Kilmore and the back across to Gisborne. Before joining the public service, Peter worked within the construction industry with mobile cranes.
