Our members are showing that civil contractors don’t just build and maintain vital infrastructure, they also step up to support their communities in meaningful ways. From tackling mental health challenges to supporting local schools and disaster recovery, these initiatives demonstrate the heart behind the hard hats.
Foott Brothers Plumbing: Swimming for Mental Health
This March, Foott Brothers have joined Laps for Life to raise funds for youth suicide prevention and mental health programs. Their team of staff, family and friends have pledged to swim over 150km collectively, aiming to raise $20,000. Each team member has been personally touched by the cause, making their commitment deeply meaningful. Donations, whether large or small, can be made via their team page, and messages of support are encouraged.

Civilworx Constructions: Colour Run for a Greener School Oval
Civilworx Constructions is supporting their local school’s Colour Run fundraiser, helping raise money to transform a dusty school oval into a safe, green space for students. The fun-filled event encourages students to run laps while being covered in bright colours, turning exercise into excitement, and most importantly, helping fund a lasting improvement for the school community. Every share, donation, or word of support brings them closer to their goal.

Harcourt Bushfire Recovery Charity Golf Day in Castlemaine
Victoria has recently faced devastating bushfires, and many of our members were personally affected. In January, the town of Harcourt, nestled in the heart of Victoria’s gold-rush district, just a stone’s throw from the thriving artistic hub of Castlemaine, was hit hard. Harcourt is a region known for boutique wineries, apple orchards, cider farms, and the iconic Coolstore Co-operative, which has served 93 local businesses since 1917. Despite the brave efforts of locals and CFA volunteers, the Coolstore and its neighbour, the Coolstore Café, were destroyed, along with over 50 homes and several vital businesses along Coolstore Road.
Many of our contractor members are CFA volunteers, some even leaders, who work tirelessly on the frontlines, fighting fires, clearing firebreaks, and supporting the community in cleanup and recovery. Some have lost homes themselves, while others have seen family, friends, and neighbours endure unimaginable losses. Their dedication and resilience remind us of the strength and heart of this community.
To support Harcourt’s recovery, a charity golf day has been organised at the Castlemaine Golf Club on Friday, 1 May.
The CCF Victoria is proud to help spread the word and connect our members to this important initiative. To register a team to play or to simply support the fundraiser, contact Gabrielle Richards from Castlemaine Toyota at marketing@castlemainetoyota.com.au or on 0407 762 568.
These inspiring initiatives remind us that the civil construction industry is about more than projects, it’s about people, community, and making a difference where it counts.
