After persistent advocacy work by CCF Victoria over the weekend, we have received formal confirmation this morning that early-stage land development projects will now be added to the list of sites, that will enable workers travelling between metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, being permitted to attend sites, even if they have received only one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

From Tuesday 5 October, workers moving between Restricted (metropolitan Melbourne & select LGA’s) and Unrestricted (regional Victoria) areas must be fully vaccinated, unless they are working on:

This morning, CCF Victoria attended an urgent briefing following our representations on this issue over the weekend. We subsequently received the above advice, together with confirmation that the Workplace (Additional Industry Obligations) Directions from the Chief Health Officer, and the construction industry restart plan website, will be re-issued today to reflect this change.

A copy of the latest industry “Reset to Restart” plan and link to the relevant website is attached for your reference.

Please note: Single dose workers must be tested before entering regional Victoria and they must get tested twice a week, with at least 72 hours between each test, until they receive their second dose. Sites must keep records of the negative test results for these workers.

For those operators with staff affected by this change, we recommend that they receive a test as soon as possible as this will be required before crossing the border and resuming on site.

Note: CCF also encourages you to complete the industry survey circulated yesterday afternoon – Click Here.

The information and results of this survey will greatly assist CCF in our continued advocacy and representation efforts to Government, for and on your behalf, to ensure we keep our sites “open and safe”.

CCF will continue to keep members updated with further information as it becomes available.
