NHVR Takes Legal Action Against Countrywide Marketing:

Since May 2014, the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has issued regular warnings to industry regarding the activities of Countrywide Marketing Pty Ltd (Countrywide Marketing), which was purporting to sell advertising space in the ‘NHVR Roadbook’ or ‘National Heavy Vehicle Roadbook’.

To avoid industry confusion, the NHVR asked Countrywide Marketing and its director, Mr Timothy O’Keefe, to cease using words and images that may have the effect of misleading the heavy vehicle industry and its associated suppliers into thinking there is a connection between Countrywide Marketing, the proposed publications, and the NHVR.

Countrywide Marketing does not represent the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator and the Regulator has not endorsed nor approved their publications.

Despite repeated requests, Countrywide Marketing has continued to issue publications, market their products and sell advertising space in the ‘Roadbook’ and more recently the ‘National Heavy Vehicle Compliance Guide’ and the ‘NHVR Regulations on Disc’.

In November 2014, the NHVR initiated legal proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia against Countrywide Marketing Pty Ltd (ACN 162 535 622); a related company, NHVR Pty Ltd (ACN 169 150 190); and the sole director of both companies, Mr Timothy O’Keefe, with a view to preventing such further conduct and representations.

If you are approached by anyone purporting to sell advertising space on behalf of the NHVR, and you are uncertain about the nature of their publication, please contact the NHVR first.
