This unit covers the carrying out of basic levelling in the civil construction industry. It includes planning and preparing, establishing offsets for civil works, setting up and using levelling devices and cleaning up. Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors.

What topics does the course cover?

Plan and prepare for basic levelling, Access, interpret and apply basic levelling documentation, and ensure the work activity is complaint, Select equipment and/or attachments for work activities, and check for faults and serviceability within specified tolerances, Establish offsets to plans and drawings, Identifying levelling devices, characteristics, technical capabilities and limitations, Set up and use levelling device, Clean and maintain condition of equipment, ensure suitability for use, and address/report.

The skills required for basic levelling so that they can demonstrate the transfer of levels, using a range of equipment and interpret an apply information to carry out site measurements using appropriate tools and equipment.
