Mobile Plant Risk Assessment – 1 Day Course

The objective of this course is to protect people at work against risks associated with Mobile Plant by ensuring the identification of hazards and the assessment and control of risks arising from exposure to the hazards.

As such, this course aims to provide the participant with the knowledge and skill required to safely and efficiently conduct a Hazard Assessment and Risk Control on Mobile items of Plant, in a working environment.

What topics does the course cover?

This course is divided into a half day theory and a half day practical session and covers the following:
Legislation and Required Documentation, Safety Practices, Hazard Identification, Risk Control, Practical Hazard Assessment and Risk Control on Various Items of Plant Equipment.

Eligibility

To participate in this course, a participant must have an understanding of;

  • Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2007.
  • Code of Practice for Plant, No 19 1995.
  • Mobile Plant experience which could include operation, maintenance, supervision and implementation of plant.

What will you get out of it?

This course enables you to manage plant risk assessments for plant liable to your own organisation. You will receive a certificate of course attendance, however this is NOT a ‘licence to practice’ outside of your company policy. You will be able to personally conduct a hazard assessment and risk control on an item of mobile plant and correctly complete the relevant procedure.

Who should attend?

You must have an understanding of hazard identification in OH&S Act ‘04, OH&S Regs ‘07 and the Code of Practice for Plant, No 19, ‘95. You must have mobile plant experience which can include the operation, maintenance, supervision and implementation of plant.
