Course Details

Operate Breathing Apparatus and Undertake Confined Space Rescue training is designed for students/personnel who are required to operate as part of an emergency response team in the case of an incident involving a Confined Space.

These units cover the competency’s required to select, don, operate and maintain breathing apparatus equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere. It is also designed to enable participants to formulate and practice a rescue plan for an emergency situation in a confined space where it is necessary to extract a person from the confined space.

This course is run by nationally accredited Registered Training Organisation Civil Train Victoria (RTO number 3704).

Who should attend?

Operate Breathing Apparatus and Undertake Confined Space Rescue training is designed for students/personnel who are required to operate as part of an emergency response team in the case of an incident involving a Confined Space.

Supervisors and personnel who work in the Water Industry/Civil industry generally require this training as to the high risk of the Confined Space work undertaken, such as working in a live sewer.

Prerequisites

ALL ATTENDEES MUST BE CLEAN SHAVEN PER AUSTRALIAN STANDARDS.

Students are required to refresh these units every 12 months to keep up with industry standards and must provide proof of attainments for PUASAR025 – Undertake Confined Space Rescue.

What qualifications does this offer?

After successful completion of this course students will receive statements of attainment for
PUASAR025 – Undertake Confined Space Rescue
MSMWHS216 – Operate Breathing Apparatus

Course participants will also be issued a training card with all of the units attained indicated on the card as proof of competency.

A record the students training will also be maintained on the Civil Train database to enable monitoring and notifying of any refresher training requirements.
