Mandatory training for all Civil workers who are responsible for the onsite preparation of underground electrical infrastructure including trenching and pits and the installation of cables and conduits.
Upon completion of this course organisations are to be registered with VEDN.

What topics does the course cover?
Health & Safety Responsibilities, Electrical Safety Act, Hazards of Electrical Assets, Risk and Safety Assessment, Civil Company Audit Requirements, Dial Before You Dig Requirements, Identify utility assets, No Go Zone / Spotter and Permit Requirements and Plans/Drawings for U/G Electrical Assets and Trenches.
What will you get out of it?
This course assists contractors to qualify, within the VESI – Electrical Infrastructure (Civil Works), VEDN Civil Accreditation process – Module 1.
Who should attend?
This affects all civil contractors engaged in tendering for underground electrical infrastructure civil work for any of the Victorian Electricity Distribution Network group (Jemena, United Energy Distribution, Powercor, Citipower, SPI Electricity/SP AusNet). Only pre-qualified and approved contractors will be permitted to work on network electricity infrastructure projects.
