Course Details

The intention of the course is to maximise the life expectancy of sewerage pipeline installations through the correct selection of materials, meeting specification requirements for installation, and ensuring quality testing on completion.
Key Areas:
• Set the standards which consultants & contractors within the sector are expected to achieve.
• Deliver safe and reliable sewerage services.
• Ensure that all assets meet expected lifespan & operational requirements.

Successful completion of the course is part of MRWA accreditation process. This course is run by the Registered Training Organisation Civil Contractors Federation (Victorian Branch) (RTO number 3704).

📢 ARCUS Update – MRWA Mandatory Training Requirements

We've spoken with South East Water regarding their mandated training requirements for Consultant Construction Auditors(Key Personnel), and received written clarification from Greater Western Water on their Accreditation Deed. ✅ South East Water will be updating ARCUS soon to clearly state the training units recognised under the ‘equivalent’ clause in their deed—bringing much-needed clarity for industry consultants and contractors.

🗓️ Key Deadline: 1 July 2025

All newly accredited Consultant Construction Auditors(Key Personnel) must complete or show evidence of enrolment in the following mandatory training:

  • Sewer Installation Quality Accreditation (1-day MRWA theory course) 👉 Enrol now
  • Trench Safety Awareness (4-hour online course) 👉 Enrol now
  • Install water mains pipelines RIICPL301Ecurrently available for group bookings at your workplaces only
    Confirmed equivalent units as a replacement of RIICPL301E for ARCUS (delivery at our facility and your workplace):

    • NWPNET064 Control electrical risk on network pipes and NWPNET049 Construct and install water distribution assets (2.5-day course – required by Greater Western Water) 👉 Enrol now
    • OR RIICRC208E Lay pipes (2-day course) 👉 Enrol now

🗓️ Upload evidence of enrollment to ARCUS by: 1 July 2025

✅ Complete all training by: 31 December 2025

Topics Covered

  • Day 1: Classroom based, understand subsidence and soil technology requirements, and ensure a complete understanding of the use of MRWA standards and specifications to improve performance. It will also include group activities to improve confidence in working to the Sewerage Code of Australia MRWA Edition, Version 2.3 and training in using the MRWA web portal.

Who should attend?

The course is designed for Key Personnel Construction Consultant Auditors in compliance with Water Industry Compliance.

What qualifications does this offer?

On successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate of attendance that will indicate the participant meets MRWA’s “Construction Supervisor” requirements for Sewer Pipe Laying.
