Course Delivery Structure
In Class Training:
- Day 1: Complete the learning and theory assessments of the course.
Post In Class Training (Must be completed within six months of theory component):
- For TMI2: Students need to complete two separate practical observations with the workplace supervisor.
Final Practical Assessment Day:
- Final Assessment of TMI 3 to be completed with a CCF Assessor at Worksite.
This nationally recognised Skill Set is delivered by Civil Contractors Federation (Victoria Branch), a Registered Training Organisation (RTO Number 3704) and an AustRoads approved training provider.

Prerequisites
TMI 3 skill set may only be undertaken if you meet the following criteria:
- Completion of the RIISS00060 Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads (TMI 1); and
- At least three months experience applying skills and knowledge relevant to the above-mentioned skill set in a temporary traffic management workplace; and
- Evidence of relevant experience setting up at least 12 temporary traffic management designs including high speed roads; and at least two of the following design types:
- Pedestrian and cyclist controls
- Construction sites
- Lane closures
- Shoulder closures
- Night works
- Use of portable traffic control devices

Who should attend?
This skill set is for individuals responsible for traffic management implementation on a site and road workers under their direction on Temporary Traffic Management Category 3 roads.
What qualifications does this offer?
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Statement of Attainment detailing the competencies associated with the following skill set:
RIISS00062 - Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for Motorways and Freeways (TMI 3)
- RIIBEF301D - Run on-site operations
- RIIWHS305 - Implement traffic management plans on motorways and freeways.
