Vale – Geoff Brown (Former President – Victorian Branch):
From the CEO of CCF Victoria – John Kilgour
It is with much sadness, that I advise that our former President, Geoff Brown (1983-86) passed away on Tuesday 12 April, 2016.
While I have not been fully briefed on the details of Geoff’s illness, he continued to be an active member and supporter of CCF. He is seen in the photo below attending our recent 2016 Annual Autumn Dinner & Training Awards evening where he presented the Geoff Brown Award for Certificate 3’s in Civil Construction – 1st, 2nd & 3rd Year.
Geoff was Victorian President from 1983 to 1986 and during this period drove our representation on the Victorian Building & Construction Industry Training Committee (commencing in May 1984) and the Committee for Increased Funds for Victorian Roads (commencing November 1983).
Geoff, together with state Board member Ken Edgley, developed the Plant Hire Books and Standard Employment forms which were launched to members in November 1983 and are still available to members today.
In 1984, Geoff was a key player at National level in supporting the formulation of a Branches in QLD (March 1984) and Tasmania (June 1986).
Our deepest sympathies are with Geoff’s family at this sad time and a notice on behalf of the Board & Members of CCF Victoria has been placed in the Herald Sun Newspaper.
