Vic’s Big Win at the National Earth Awards:

CCF Victoria is proud to announce that Lendlease Engineering, Rob Carr and Melbourne Water have won Category 5 at the CCF National Earth Awards for the Alphington Sewer Project.

On Friday 4th November, the National Press Club in Canberra hosted over 200 delegates to acknowledge and celebrate 43 projects over six categories. The audience was hosted and entertained throughout the evening by MC Tim Shaw (“but wait, there’s more!”), and illusionist Sam Powers.

Having won Category 5 at the CCF Victoria Earth Awards, Lendlease Engineering, Rob Carr and Melbourne Water’s Alphington Sewer Project proved to be the stand-out again amongst four other National Finalists in Category 5.

The Alphington Sewer Project

After a century of service, the North Yarra Main Sewer and the Kew North Branch Sewer was in a state of disrepair, experiencing flows exceeding capacity, and at the end of its serviceable lifetime. The Alphington Sewer Project, led by Rob Carr and Lendlease, consisted of 1.5km of trenching; 1.3km of tunnelling; construction and modification of manholes; installation of a siphon pump well; and decommissioning the existing 2.3km sewer and siphon.
