The Victorian Government wants to get as many people as possible back to work. That’s why we’ve developed the $500 million Working for Victoria Fund, assisting businesses to employ those impacted by the pandemic.

Working for Victoria is one of several initiatives created to support Victorians who have lost their jobs or had their income affected by coronavirus. We’re encouraging construction companies across Victoria to access the diverse, talented and work-ready labour pool of 50,000 Victorians now available.

If you’re looking to hire staff, log onto www.vic.gov.au/workingforvictoria today and register. The Working for Victoria Fund offers employers a range of recruitment benefits, including:

  • Access to a free, online portal for you to advertise roles and match your recruitment needs to a diverse pool of work ready candidates
  • Targeted matching of job requirements to jobseeker skills to assist you with applicant shortlisting
  • A cap on the number of applicants per job posting based on your needs, reducing the requirement for you to screen hundreds of applicants.

Working for Victoria is open to any Victorians looking for work, in particular those who have lost their jobs as a result of the restrictions in place to slow the spread of coronavirus. You are eligible for Working for Victoria if you are legally able to work in Australia.

The construction industry is crucial to Victoria’s economy during this time of uncertainty. With essential road, rail, commercial and residential construction continuing across the state and playing a vital role in Victoria’s recovery, Working for Victoria can help you find the talent you need.
