Course Details

Operate Breathing Apparatus and Undertake Confined Space Rescue training is designed for students/personnel who are required to operate as part of an emergency response team in the case of an incident involving a Confined Space. These units cover the competency required to select, don, operate and maintain breathing apparatus equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere. It is also designed to enable participants to formulate and practice a rescue plan for an emergency situation in a confined space where it is necessary to extract a person from the confined space.

This course covers the following subjects:
MSMWHS216 – Operate Breathing Apparatus
PUASAR025 – Undertake Confined Space Rescue

This course is ran by Civil Train Victoria, a Registered Training Organisation (RTO number 3704).

Who should attend?

Current holders of an Operating Breathing Apparatus and Undertake Confined Space Rescue are recommended to refresh every 12 months to ensure the knowledge skills are current for working in the industry.

Prerequisites

ALL ATTENDEES MUST BE CLEAN SHAVEN PER AUSTRALIAN STANDARDS.

Evidence of Operating Breathing Apparatus (in current units of competency) is required before commencement of the course. MSMWHS216 - Operate Breathing Apparatus prior to attending the refresher course.

What qualifications does this offer?

On successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of attendance that will indicate the participant meets the current knowledge to:
