This skill set addresses the skills and knowledge required for those responsible for developing traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes on Temporary Traffic Management Category 1 environments as described in the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management

All theory and practical assessments are completed on our Learner Management System (LMS)
This course is run by Civil Train Victoria (RTO Number 3704) as a nationally accredited Registered Training Organisation .
You must have an individual email address to access the LMS online portal not company email address.

Topics Covered

The course will cover the following steps in the preparation of Traffic Management plans and Guidance schemes:

  • Support and review traffic management plan implementation.
  • Prepare traffic management plans and traffic guidance scheme.
  • Establish context for traffic management plan and traffic guidance scheme.
  • Audit the risk management process and complete records.
  • Implement and evaluate risk control.
  • Identify potential actions and develop risk controls.
  • Assess workplace risks and identify unacceptable risk levels.
  • Identify workplace hazards and assess associated risks.
  • Plan and prepare for implementing a risk management process.

Who should attend?

A theory only course (no post course practical required) is designed for workers who do not directly undertake temporary traffic management roles at worksites, that is they need to know about traffic management, but do not perform a traditional traffic management role. This training is referred to as non-practitioner training in Victoria.

Prerequisites

• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Have Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills to ACSF level 2 or above.
• Provide a copy of current Traffic Management Accreditation Card.

Assessment

The assessment for this non-practitioner designer course comprises of both theoretical and practical components which will be conducted throughout the duration of the course.

What qualifications does this offer?

Upon successful completion of the three days, you will be issued with a Statement of Completion only.
