On Thursday 15th of September 2022 we held a mental health forum in Geelong to conclude our Positive Plans Positive Futures project which is a prevention focused mental health initiative supported by Work Safe’s WorkWell mental health improvement fund. Over the last two years CCF Victoria has proudly delivered some great outcomes including 3 health and wellbeing summits attended by 500 people in the civil construction industry. Thank you to our proud business partners Gallagher, Incolink and Meditac Australia for their continued support.

At the forum, as well as important updates from WorkSafe on the Psychological Health and Safety Regulations we heard from our founding partners Helen Christo from Rokon Pty Ltd,  Terrence Breen from APS and Amanda Cole from NVC Precast on a panel supported by Positive plans Positive Futures Project Leader Adrian Panozzo (CCF Victoria) who shared courageously of their experiences in developing and implementing mental health action plans in their businesses.

We are incredibly proud of our founding partner businesses and the work we have done with them which has enabled us to refine a potential framework for the civil construction industry to adopt when developing their own mental health action plans…

Where to next?
Our industry has a significant mental health problem and we can’t afford to be reactive, it’s clear we need improvement in how workplaces understand and address psychological health in civil construction. An important culture change is needed to empower our people to live and work well.

Mental Health & Wellbeing Training

This exciting new training offering is relevant to the challenges we face in the civil construction industry and is being developed in conjunction with RMIT University and Psychological Safety/ Wellbeing experts.
